How Perler Beads handles selected images, local project data, analytics, and contact information.

Last updated: 2026-07-23

Effective date: July 23, 2026

1. Introduction

Perler Beads ("we," "us," or "our") operates perlerbeads.cc, a browser-based tool for turning photos and pixel art into fuse-bead patterns. This Privacy Policy explains what information is handled when you use the website, where your pattern data is stored, and the choices available to you.

The core pattern maker is free to use and does not require an account.

2. Uploaded Images and Browser Processing

Images you choose in the pattern maker are decoded, sampled, color-matched, edited, previewed, and exported in your browser. The core pattern maker does not upload your source image to our servers. Your image remains temporarily available to the page while you work and is released when you remove it, replace it, or close the page.

Because the source image is not sent to us by the pattern maker, we do not store it, publish it, or use it to train artificial-intelligence models.

If you use your device's share menu, download an export, or save a project file, the resulting file is handled by your browser, operating system, or the app you select. Those destinations are under your control and may have their own privacy practices.

3. Information We Handle

Depending on how you use the website, we may handle the following categories of information:

  • Local project data. The website may automatically save the generated pattern grid, palette and color codes, conversion settings, edits, completion progress, custom palettes, and limited source-file metadata such as the file name, type, size, and a local fingerprint in your browser's local storage. The original source image is not included in this saved project data.
  • Technical and request data. Our hosting and security systems may process information such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, referring URL, and request timestamps to deliver the website, maintain reliability, and prevent abuse.
  • Analytics data. When analytics is enabled, we may receive page views, session or interaction events, approximate location, referrer, and browser or device information. We use this information to understand and improve the website.
  • Contact information. If you contact the maintainer through X, we may receive your public profile information and the content you choose to send. X processes that interaction under its own privacy policy.

The current pattern maker does not require payment information to convert, edit, or export a pattern.

4. How We Use Information

We use information only as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the website;
  • keep your project state and preferences available on your device;
  • understand aggregate usage and improve features and usability;
  • answer questions and review feedback you choose to send;
  • detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our Terms of Service; and
  • comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our rights.

5. Cookies, Local Storage, and Analytics

We use browser storage that is necessary for features such as language and theme preferences, saved pattern projects, editing progress, and custom palettes. You can remove this data through your browser's site-data controls, although doing so may delete locally saved projects.

The website uses Plausible Analytics, served from plau.colorepistle.com, to understand aggregate traffic and feature usage. Plausible may process page views, referrers, approximate location, and browser or device information under its own privacy policy. You can restrict analytics requests through browser settings or content-blocking tools.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may disclose limited information:

  • to hosting, security, and analytics providers that help us operate the website, but only for the services they provide;
  • when you direct your device to share an exported file with an app or service you select;
  • to comply with a valid legal request or applicable law;
  • when reasonably necessary to protect users, the public, our rights, or the security of the service; or
  • as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate notice and safeguards where required.

Third-party services process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Their availability and data locations may differ by region.

7. Data Retention

Local project data remains in your browser until you delete it, clear the website's stored data, or your browser removes it. Files you download remain wherever you choose to save them.

We retain server logs, analytics data, contact communications, and other personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and secure the service, respond to requests, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Third-party providers may apply their own retention periods.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed by the service. Keeping source-image conversion in your browser reduces the amount of image data transmitted to us. However, no website, device, storage system, or Internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Choices and Rights

You can choose not to provide an image or contact us. You can remove locally saved project data through your browser settings and manage tracking controls through your browser or content-blocking tools.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or a copy of personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact the maintainer through the X profile below. Do not include sensitive personal information in a public reply. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

10. Children's Privacy

The website is a general-audience creative tool and is not intended to collect personal information from children under 13. The core pattern maker can be used without an account or sending an image to our servers. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate. Children should use hot irons and other craft equipment only with appropriate adult supervision and according to the manufacturer's safety instructions.

11. Third-Party Links and Brand References

The website may link to third-party websites or refer to bead brands for color matching. We do not control those third parties or their privacy practices. Perler, Hama, Artkal, Nabbi, MARD, and other brand names are the property of their respective owners; references to them do not imply that those companies receive your uploaded images.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide additional notice where reasonably appropriate.

13. Contact Us

For privacy questions or requests, contact @cepistle_ on X. Please do not include sensitive personal information in a public reply.
